The life of the collections

The collection grows on a regular basis thanks to purchases, generally made with the help of the State or the Region.  The museum also benefits from donations and bequests, which enrich the collections.                     

Restoration of the works is an important element in the preservation of the collections. Restoration focuses mainly on the paintings, but graphic art works and ethnographic objects are also restored.      

Finally, the museum’s works are frequently loaned to exhibitions both in France and abroad, which helps to raise the profile of the collection.
